Way back before the term "survival horror" had even been invented, a frightening game called Alone in the Dark came along that sent chills down the spine of the gaming community with its ghostly setting and unsettling atmosphere. It would go on to inspire an entire genre, and without it thereíd be no such thing as Resident Evil, Nocturne, or any of other titles most younger gamers take for granted. But 2001 the originalís about to make its return in the revamped and long-awaited Alone in the Dark: The New Nightmare. While the last two sequels failed to quite capture the magic of the original, the new game has been wholly updated to better match the expectations of todayís survival horror gamer. Main character Edward Carnby returns, but heís hardly the stuffy old fuddy duddy he once was ñ this time, heís out for revenge.
