As the game's intro sequence rolls, you see a huge Kilrathi capital ship cruise round a planet, while inside the Kilrathi overlord tells his princely son about his devious plan to destroy the terran race. Meanwhile, the hero is accused of cowardice and is being blamed by the terran Confederation for the loss of the Tiger's Claw, which resukts in a posting to the stellar equivalent of the North Pole. But being on the Gwynedd base isn't all that bad, and you soon get the chance to put some new ships through their paces, as the Kilrathi make a nuisance of themselves on the the edge of terran space.
